Oksana is a classically trained musician/pianist/singer and songwriter. She trained at the Russian School of Music at the age of 8 and graduated in the top 10 of her class when she was 15. Her passion is in Voice and writing of music and Lyrics. Her teachers noticed her gifted abilities and encouraged her to master her skills. Oksana also has a passion for Shakespeare’s sonnets, as well as English poets of the 12-18th centuries. These works of art influenced and |
inspired Oksana to write her own poems and songs. Oksana started composing her own music at the age of 14 in both English and Russian. A year later Oksana was nominated with a Russian PZ -Radio award for the best self-written song and was played on mainstream radio. She was offered a recording contract with the Russian radio station which produced a number of hit singles written and performed by Oksana in both in English and Russian, and were featured on local radio stations. Contracts to write songs for various artists soon followed and she collaborated with the famous band of the soviet times “Kulikovo Pole” for whom she wrote 6 songs versed in English; the following year she wrote lyrics for the world famous group from St. Petersburg “Sankt-Peterburg”. Oksana’s songwriting skills were highly praised by the professional musicians and industry professionals alike. By the age of 17 Oksana had been interviewed by the top Russian journalists with the interviews being broadcast on the local radio and TV stations in Russia . While in college pursuing a Master’s degree in English and German Linguistics, Oksana formed a teen group with a college friend, The band toured neighboring cities performing Oksana’s own songs at festivals, concerts, clubs and even an Opera House in Samara. She was a favourite among audiences and great friendships with incredible musicians where formed. Oksana formed a close bond with both of her vocal trainers - the classical voice coach, a renowned Artist of Russia Vasily Postnov, now the Head of the Philharmonic Society of Penza; as well as the Pop/Soul vocal coach Alla K. Korshunova. She continued their warm relationship for many years to come even after she left the home city for the capital of the music world – Hollywood ! At the invitation of a Hollywood producer, in early 2000, she came to America with a self-released Russian-American album,as well as to further her career in being able to learn from the best of RnB/Soul producers and singers currently currently in the mainstream music industry. In 2004-2007 she wrote a number of contextually different love songs and both music industry professionals, producers and agents looked at Oksana's music with a great deal of interest. Her vocal training has resumed with Alla K. Giving her a more velvety tone and an angelic timber like never before. In 2006 KIRV Entertainment offered a production deal with major exposure and distribution worldwide. However, the contract between KIRV and OA did not come into fruition and the search for the new producer began. Soon thereafter, in early 2008, she started collaborating with filmmakers and music producers in Hollywood, Beverly Hills, OC, and Las Vegas. Lyrics and melodies are angelic-sounding, filled with love and tranquility. By the end of 2008, the record was produced by a celebrity producer, an incredibly talented production team “ALUMNI”. We expect the record to be ready for release early 2009. This hottest brand new album will take you to the realm of something from above, where everything is possible, especially love.
